Good Day 'Sunshine?'

Danny Boyle earned my everlasting affection by creating two brilliant, couldn't-be-more-different dramas back to back -- "Millions" and "28 Days Later."
Now, he gives us "Sunshine" and I'm sad to say how disappointed I am.

It isn't a bad movie by any stretch. It's just not another brilliant Boyle movie.
Maybe next time.

Even Spielberg has his "1941." Grant him bonus x.p. at least for attempting something interesting.

Dude, you need a better picture :-)

(and hey, anon, I love 1941!)

Let's not give TV short shrift this summer (okay, less, it's been a miserable summer) but you gotta check out USA's Burn Notice -- schlocky summertime stuff, a la NBC's late night "sweating bullets" and "silk stalkings" -- and a very swining' "Madmen" on AMC (yes, it's on your cable lineup, go look, it's the "old movie" channel) ... it's an original production on Madison Ave. set in the early 1960s, very pretty to look at.

And I predict folks will go gaga for the new ABC fall show coming up, Pushing Daisies ... it's very, very Tim Burton ... and... best part ... a native Denver dude (DU alum) is a staff writer ... from what I've seen, very nice.

That said, The Kinetix (www.myspace.com/kinetixmusic) are playing Sat. at Herb's ... I know I'll be there ...

Let me second the recommendation for Burn Notice. It's like a much cooler MacGyver, with hotter stars.
