The 'Hitman' cometh
Do we really need to turn video games into movies? The question lingers after watching "Hitman," a serviceable but unnecessary actioner starring Timothy Olyphant. My review in The Washington Times today is kinder than most (when I last checked, the film had a 12 percent fresh rating at Rottentomatoes.com). That's mainly due to Olyphant, who can transcend vapid material when on his game (see "The Girl Next Door" for Exhibit A). (Photo: Olyphant takes aim as the mysterious killer in "Hitman")

Oh, you were FAAARRRRRR too kind with holiday stinkfest Fred Claus. Just staggered back from seeing it, well, seeing part of it. We walked out.
Worst Movie Ever. No one should see that. The dipwad child sitting behind me laughed his fool head off throughout the trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks ... and I don't think he even smiled during the first half of Fred Claus. I'm not a big fan of children (I hate them) but not even a child should have to sit through this thing.
I can't disagree with you too much, but I will say the film found a snippet of holiday cheer toward the end (I could never walk out on a film -- although I've been tempted a time or two). I've read other critics who said the same thing about the ending, even though the first half is "Jingle All the Way" bad.
And if you didn't like "Fred Claus," try "Deck the Halls." It makes "Fred" look like "It's a Wonderful Life Part Deux."
And what does this have to do with "Hitman" again??
I wanted to hire him, for a certain relative of a certain fat man in a red suit.
