Remake mania continues

Hollywood can't remake films fast enough. Now, there's talk of revisiting "Death Wish" and "Clash of the Titans," the latter notable thanks to Ray Harryhausen's brilliant special effects. Sure, they don't live up to what today's CGI magicians can conjure, but Harryhausen's stop-motion marvels made many B-movies into genre favorites.
FYI: The Monsters HD channel will salute Harryhausen's work starting Wednesday with a two-day marathon including "Jason and the Argonauts" (6:45 pm EST Wednesday).
Check out the news courtesy of Dark Horizons -- "Death Wish" and "Clash of the Titans."

I thought they already remade Death Wish this year. It was called The Brave One.

!!!...beat me to it: I agree, I Death Watched Death Wish when it was masked as The Brave One.

If remakes must occur, allow them to capture the zeitgeist: I want to see some of the Chuck Norris/Jean Claude van Damme/Michael Dudikoff vs. the GWOT films

Actually, Kevin Bacon's "Death Sentence" from a few months back was even closer to the "Death Wish" mojo than "The Brave One." And, in a weird way, more honest about the subject matter it tackled, even if it's a far inferior film.
