A sorry lot
The head mind over at NBC's "Heroes" is sorry ... not so much for the strike which is shutting down Hollywood but for the creative dip his show has taken in season two.
Entertainment Weekly has the scoop.
What I find interesting is how connected TV creators are with fans these days, a trend seemingly tied to the democratic nature of the Web. When a show begins to stumble, the fans hit those chat rooms and let their voices be heard. And, occasionally, the show listens. It reminds me of last year, when "24" main man Joel Surnow offered a similar mea culpa about that show's uneven sixth season.
It's hard to say if either show will successfully rebound, but I prefer artists who are humble and consider criticism to those who forge ahead, utterly sure of their own muse.

Hmmm, like when Twin Peaks spun out of control? .... :-)
more later ...
What is this "web" of which you speak?
I have been watching Heroes this season, and I don't really notice a drop in the writing quality from last year. Maybe the actors have just won me over so much that they carry the show for me, but honestly I don't see the writing quality dipping at all.
