Testosterone-free TV

ABC is becoming the Alan Alda network. The "M*A*S*H*" star was once considered the cultural role model for the sensitive, new age man.
The Boston Globe's terrific story on ABC's dramatic lineup made me think of Alda and just how much the television landscape has evolved since the "Leave it to Beaver" days.
Progress? Regression? It's somewhere in the middle, but I need to think about it before drawing a conclusion.
