Video store 101
Posted a simple primer for successfully navigating the local video store over at eHow.com. I spent about five years working for a Mom and Pop video store (we're talking VHS), and I took pride in steering customers toward movies that matched their tastes. I suspect not every Blockbuster employee takes similar care.

BTW, have you taken a look at Quarterlife? Check it out at www.quarterlife.com .. it's supposed to be a breakout collaborative web programming, network slaying project, etc ... from the producers of My So Called Life, real Hollywood heavies doing stuff amateurs are beating them at (ie: Lonelygirl15, We Need Girlfriends, etc) ... But to me, it kept feeling Hollywood familiar, like, "this is thirtysomething before Hope and Michael got married and bought a huge farmhouse and got rich ..."
Then, at the very end of the credits, there's that song, "Come dance by the light of the moon" ... oh, the production company is Bedford Falls, same co. that did, you guessed it, thirtysomething.
Not that I'm naturally cynical or something. But rather than a "let's shake off the man" breakout, I'm seeing this as an experimental to tap into an audience that isn't watching TV the way their father is working ... and then you say, if this is a first shot at webcentric programming, it's no woder the writer's want a cut ... this is the new TV.
ramble over.
