Welcome back

It's great to have the Coen brothers back and working at the peak of their powers. The brilliant minds behind "Fargo," "Raising Arizona" and "Miller's Crossing" rebound with "No Country for Old Men," a dark but invigorating drama opening in select cities tomorrow. The film, based on a novel by Cormac McCarthy, casts Javier Bardem as a killing machine on the trail of a welder (Josh Brolin, who could single-handedly bring the moustache back in vogue) who took off with his $2 million. That benign premise is all the Coens need to deliver the kind of movie that stands above and beyond its cinematic peers. I haven't even gotten to the supporting cast, teeming with rich characters (Woody Harrelson and Tommy Lee Jones stand out) as well as the best Coen brothers' dialogue since "Miller's Crossing."
Not for the faint of heart and not to be missed.
