Criminally overlooked

OK, I can understand "Once" not getting a Golden Globe nomination for Best Musical or Comedy today. It was the little indie that could, but perhaps not enough people saw it to help it break into the top tier of nominees. But it didn't even earn a Best Original Song nod??? Has a modern movie integrated music and drama more elegantly, and with more emotional heft, than "Once?"
A clear blow to the Globe's credibility, no doubt. The Globes have been getting more attention, and respect, in recent years. And the fact it splits the best picture nominees into two categories - dramas and musicals/comedies - sets it smartly apart from the Oscars. But ignoring "Once" makes it clear that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association voters aren't watching enough movies. Or, they're tone deaf. Maybe both.
