Clooney's time machine

George Clooney has one eye on the present and another on Hollywood's Golden Age. How else to explain the actor's penchant for dramas addressing modern issues ("Syriana, "Good Night, and Good Luck") as well as screwball comedy retreads (the new "Leatherheads").

While the former two movies drew tons of praise and even earned Clooney a golden statuette, "Leatherhheads" will likely be remembered as an ambitious failure.

My Washington Times review throws the penalty flag a few times on the new comedy, which co-stars Renee Zellweger and "The Office's" John Krasinski.
