Lohan wises up

Score one, a rare one, for Lindsay Lohan.

The "Mean Girls" star will pop up in the season finale of ABC's "Ugly Betty."

Hardly a career renaissance, but a step in the right direction. Even Britney Spears got good press for her appearance on "How I Met Your Mother." Show your chops to Middle America and juicier roles may follow. America loves to tear its actors to pieces, but we're just as enamored with comeback stories.

And it's far smarter than playing the strumpet card in a new movie.

two come to mind ... one, I've seen, is the Romancing the Stone (a decent flick) sequel, "Jewel of the Nile," what a piece of crap.

And the other, I haven't, but does Gigli count as a rom-com? Not many romantic comedies including cutting off the thumb of a dumb guy, but ...

Actually, for an example of a solid romantic-comedy (one could argue) that includes Zombies, one might consider Return of the Living Dead ...

Must you bring zombies into this?

"Gigli" was awful, but I don't think it's a perfect fit for the rom-com genre. More like a stink-com.

Zombies are always appropriate.

OK, how 'bout a zombie love story?

"Patrick Dempsey had it all .. good looks, a great job, a New York city apartment. But he loved to chow down on the limbs of all his dates. Then he met Mary..."

By the way, has anyone seen a recent zombie named "Fido?" Need to check that one out ...
